Thomas Helgerson, 83, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2016.

The Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on April 24, 2016 at Waukesha Bible Church. Pastor Patrick Griffiths of Waukesha Bible Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on April 24, 2016 at Waukesha Bible Church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Seneca, WI.

Tom was born in Mt. Sterling, Wisconsin on May 4, 1932. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1950.

Though he had no further education, Tom began his highly successful career at Briggs and Stratton in 1951.

He steadily advanced from his entry level position as a bench tester to the pinnacle of his profession as Corporate Quality Control Manager. After retirement he was hired as a consultant working for Briggs and Stratton as they explored opportunities within China.

Tom worked at Briggs and Stratton for more than 38 years.

Tom was married to Hazel Ann (Barnum) Helgerson on August 11, 1956; they were married 59 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was also actively involved in serving on the Board of Elders at Waukesha Bible Church for many years.

Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hazel Ann (Barnum) Helgerson of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and two children, Thomas M. Helgerson and his wife Anne, (Klaassens) Helgerson of London, Ontario, Canada; and two grandchildren David and Annalies. Craig J. Helgerson and his wife Dawn, (Cates) Helgerson of Waukesha, WI; and 2 grandchildren Anna Helgerson of Miamisburg, Ohio and Erik and his wife Jocelyn (Ewing) Helgerson of Xenia, Ohio. He had one sister Virginia Helgerson of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Carol Helgerson and Anne Helgerson; as well as his brother, Douglas Helgerson.
