WAUKESHA

Scott R. Memmel
April 2, 1958 — May 6, 2016

Scott R. Memmel On Friday, May 6, 2016, Scott R. Memmel of Waukesha passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58. Scott was born on April 2, 1958, to Ted Jr. and Pat Memmel. Scott graduated from Waukesha North High School, Class of 1976. After graduation, Scott went on to work at We Energies for 38 years. Scott had a huge love of aviation, astronomy, music, children and animals. Scott and Karee were avid travelers, visiting many locations and creating beautiful memories. Scott had a unique sense of humor; a “grand marshal” of any function — always with a quick wit. He used his humor and jokes to lift the spirits of anyone who was feeling blue. We will all miss his laughter.

Scott’s love of rock music led him to his high school band, Stonehenge, although his personal music collections spanned many genres. Scott’s love of astronomy was passed on to his nieces and nephews as many nights were spent looking through a telescope at the night sky.

Scott is lovingly remembered by his one true love, Karee. After meeting in high school, they were inseparable from that moment on. God blessed them with 38 years of marriage. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his loving siblings, sister Jodi Memmel (Ray Stickels) and brothers Timm Memmel (Margaret) and Todd Memmel (Katie); motherin- law, Arlene Phillips; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharron Stolpa (Steve), Kim Pryse, Linda DePriest, David Long (Christine) and Misty Thoma. Scott will be forever admired and adored by his nieces and nephews, Amanda Barrette (Zach), Patrick Ryan (Bettina), Michael Memmel (Katie), Christine Locke (Ben), Michelle Church (Gabrielle), Tony Memmel (Lesleigh), Megan Scheinkoenig (Joe), Michael DePriest (Misti), Sarresa Hrenak (Mike), Shanna Stolpa-Hanusa (Jason), Larynn Long, Karleen Garcia, Corrine Long (Mario), Tyler Thoma, Julia Lewis and Michael Johnson, and his “adopted” son, Christopher Braatz. His memory also lives on in many extended family and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Jr. and Pat Memmel; grandparents, Ted Sr. and Grace Memmel and Ray and June Novak; nephews Jason Schroedl, Sean Bryan Phillips-Thoma and John Lewis; father-in-law, Jack Phillips; and brother-in-law Bill Long.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 2 pm to 5 pm. A memorial service will begin after the visitation at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.

Although Scott has left this earth, he never truly leaves; for he is still alive in our hearts and minds.

Church and Chapel Rudolph-Larsen Bros. Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information, call 262-549-0659 or visit www.churchandchapel.com to view the online obituary, leave condolences or receive directions.
