Bridget Mary (McCarragher) Tietz

Bridget Mary Tietz of Sullivan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the age of 57. She joined her mother, Mary Jane (McCarragher) Baalrud, in heaven for Motherís Day.

Bridget was born on February 11, 1959, in Waukesha, the daughter of Amby and Mary Jane McCarragher. She was born three months early, at a little more than two pounds, and fought hard to survive.

She attended Waukesha South High School and the Waukesha Area Technical College. Bridget loved helping others and working with the elderly. Over the years, she worked in many different jobs but loved best those as a nursesí aide and housekeeper at area hospitals and assisted living homes.

Bridget was married for 17 years to her husband, Dennis Tietz, who preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends, including her brother, Ward (Marie) McCarragher of Chevy Chase, Md.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dale (Kim) Tietz and Delaine (Greg) Endl; aunts and uncles, including Winifred McKenzie and Joseph (Marion) Ward; cousins, including Maureen (Jack) Metzger and Kathy (Tim) Barnes; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Colin and Megan McCarragher, Greg Tietz, and Keith and Kelly Roehl; and her best friend, Darlene Jasinski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepfather Jerry Baalrud; and stepsisters Sue Hayes and Karen Baalrud.

Bridget was a sweet and gentle soul who overcame many challenges in her life. She was a cheerful spirit who never forgot a birthday, and always had a smile and kind word for all. Bridget was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church of Dousman. Bridget loved her family and her dogs were a central part of it. She had many dogs, especially beagles, throughout her life.

The visitation celebrating Bridgetís life will be held on Friday, May 27, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the 12:30 p.m. memorial Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha.
