Ruth R. Rhinesmith (nee Hasslinger)
April 13, 1931 — July 4, 2016
Ruth R. Rhinesmith (nee Hasslinger), a longtime Waukesha County resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 4, 2016, at the age of 85.
She was born to Arthur and Edith Hasslinger on April 13, 1931, in Hartland, where she attended Bark River School and graduated from Hartland High School. She earned her degree as a LPN and worked as a nurse for over 42 years. Upon retirement, she served as a hostess on High Roller casino bus tours until the age of 78.
She loved knitting and crocheting and fashioned many handmade afghans. Known as “Ma Rhinesmith” to a large extended family, Ruth was always very giving to many throughout her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Buryel D. Rhinesmith; loving mother of Glen (Rebekah) and Rory (Kerrin); and special nanna to Lucas, John (Melissa), William, Breanna and Michael. She is further survived by her great-granddaughter McKenna Rose; the loving children and grandchildren of the late Lois and Chuck Jensen; and her sister-in-law Donna (Thomas) Ward and their family. In addition, she will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 15, at St. Anskar’s Episcopal Church, N48-W31340 Hill Road (Highway 83), Hartland, from 2:00 PM until a memorial service at 3:30 PM, followed by a reception. Her final rest will be at Hartland Lutheran Cemetery.
