Lucille M. Liburdi

Lucille M. Liburdi of Waukesha passed away on July 15, 2016. Lucille Liburdi (formerly Larson) was born on October 31, 1918, and she peacefully passed on to heaven at the age of 97. 

Mrs. Liburdi attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and had a short career with the federal government working in Washington, D.C., during WWII. In the years that followed, she was a homemaker in Milwaukee, Butler and Menomonee Falls.

Mrs. Liburdi enjoyed the later years of her life at Avalon Square senior living facility in downtown Waukesha. Mrs. Liburdi was a former member of the Waukesha Womenís Club, and she was an accomplished ballroom dancer. She was married to renowned artist Louis Liburdi, who passed away in 2005.

Together they had and are survived by six offspring: Col. John C. Liburdi (USAF, Ret.), Mr. Louis Liburdi Jr., Mrs. Christine M. Barham, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Di Stefano, Ms. Catherine M. Liburdi and Mrs. Margaret F. Czech. 

Lucille Liburdiís funeral ceremony will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 826 N. East Ave., Waukesha, on Wednesday, July 20, at 11AM. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the church from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. 

Mrs. Liburdi will be interred next to her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha. 

Lucille Liburdi was a loving mother, a devout Christian and a truly great American.
