Charlene Fay Frohna
Aug. 9, 1936 — July 27, 2016

Charlene Fay Frohna, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2016, at Seasons Hospice at the age of 79 after losing a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Charlene was born on August 9, 1936, in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Dorothy Reinert.

On October 4, 1958, she married the love of her life, James Frohna. She attended Marquette University and graduated from Columbia Hospital with a nursing degree. Charlene worked as a registered nurse at several hospitals, including Waukesha Memorial, and the Avalon Manor in Waukesha. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was also a volunteer at the Notre Dame Middle School for girls. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and a grandmother.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, Jim; 10 children, Julie (Gary) Wycklendt of Waukesha, Dr. Brian (Dr. Leslie Welk) Frohna of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Dr. William (Debra) Frohna of Rockville, Md., Dr. Paul (Rita) Frohna of Solana Beach, Calif., Joseph (Kim) Frohna of Wales, Eileen (Lar) Finan of Francis, Utah, Nancy Frohna of Delafied, Matthew (Marie) Frohna of Lake Wylie, S.C., Elizabeth (Dr. Rizwan) Loya of Pewaukee and Patricia (Brendan) Post of Lincoln University, Pa.; and 26 grandchildren, Gregory, Nicholas, Kathryn, Peter, Madison, Maya, Amalia, Kaila, Melissa, Nathan, Kyle, Ava, Hansen, Laila, Peyton, Ethan, Mason, Sofia, Corey, Natasha, Aiden, Aren, Alec, Miranda, Keira, and Landon; step-granddaughter, Lauren; and sister, Joyce (David) Karel of Muskego. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The visitation for Charlene will be held on Thursday, August 4, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186.
