Ann (Socwell) Boelkow
Pat Boelkow passed to her eternal rest on July 27, 2016, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
Pat was the second of six children born to Roland Socwell and Helen (Meehan) Socwell in Janesville. She married Virgil Patulski in 1956. They had three children, Brenda, Angie and Rick.
Pat was a country girl in every sense. Raised on the farm, she connected with down-to-earth solutions and advice. She loved John Wayne, country music and helping people with problems. She was athletic in high school, enjoyed deer hunting and was a 4H leader in Jefferson County.
Being the second of six children, she became the creative one. She played and taught the accordion. She had many art interests and passed on her love of art, wildlife and gardening to her daughters.
Pat was an educator the UW Extension Service for 13 years, where she taught food safety and nutrition. After retirement, she became active in many ways.
She was a prolific painter and enjoyed working in acrylics best. She was very active in AA and was a highly respected and much loved member. Her home was a sanctuary of love, education and inspiration and for many people. She taught finance classes, was an expert on the computer and loved computer games. She took a keen interest in politics and would have voted for Hillary Clinton.
She was always smiling and was a hugger. She made the best of every situation and made people feel good. An incredible number of people will miss her.
She is survived by her brothers Ron, Jerry, Richard and Dennis; her sister Charlotte; her daughters Brenda Messling and Angela Peterson; and son Rick Boelkow. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jesse Hoeye, Netty Peterson and Chrystle Boelkow, and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husbands Virgil Patulski and Fred Boelkow.
A funeral service will be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 AM.
