Lois H. Seegert, of Waukesha, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Heritage Senior Living at the age of 85.
She was born on January 24, 1931 in Stanchfield, Minn., the daughter of Hans and Lena Vegsund. Lois graduated from St. Cloud Teacher’s College and was a teacher in Rush City, Minn., from 1950 to 1954. She married the love of her life, Donald Seegert, on July 10, 1954, and then they moved to Waukesha. Lois was a teacher at many Waukesha schools until her retirement in 1986. She loved music, was a piano teacher, and loved to walk. Donald and Lois were active members at Waukesha Bible Church and Elmbrook Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will always be known as the Sweet Lady.
Lois will be missed by her children, Teri (James) Downing, DeAnn (Jeffrey) Montney, and Jay (Amy) Seegert; grandchildren, Jason Downing, Jessica Downing, Kaitlyn Downing, Joshua Montney, Chase Montney, Tyler Montney, Taylor Seegert, and Victoria Seegert; and great-grandchildren, Sienna, Jethro, Parker, Tobias, and Caleb.
She is further survived by other relatives and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and siblings, Annette, Dorothy, and Jerrold.
A private family graveside service will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
