Thomas L. Robinson

March 4, 1955 — July 27, 2016

Thomas L. Robinson, age 61, of Beloit, Kansas, sadly passed away peacefully on July 27, 2016, after an extended illness. Tom was born in Waukesha on March 4, 1955, the son of Robert and Adris Robinson, who preceded him in death and welcomed him with open arms.

Tom graduated from Waukesha High School and entered the U.S. Army soon thereafter. He formed many strong friendships with his Army buddies and recently attended a reunion. Upon completion of his military service, he went on to develop his culinary skills at Waukesha County Technical College. After receiving his degree, he started his career at various summer camps and restaurants in northern Wisconsin. He then came back to Waukesha to be head chef at the Depot Restaurant and partnered in a catering business. Here he met his wife Cathy and had a son Tim. After Waukesha, he went to work various cities in Kansas, which would be his final home.

Tom was always a free thinker, wonderful story teller and explorer in life. His active imagination and humor always made people laugh. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with family and friends. Trains were also his passion in life and chief mode of transportation when he came back to Wisconsin for visits.

His last city of residence was Beloit, Kansas, where here he was employed and taught at a local tech college for numerous years. Tom’s last employment was at Hillside Senior Living Facility, where he greatly enjoyed cooking and socializing with the residents. He also was a regular patron at the downtown Eagles Club.

Tom is survived by his son Tim of Milwaukee and granddaughter Kylie. He is also survived by his “udder brudder,” Rob and his wife Linda; sister Barbara and her husband Jerry Stroter; sister Patti Robinson Bell; and sister Elly and husband David Mandell. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
