Judith Elaine Friesen

Judith Elaine Friesen, 77, a former resident of Waukesha, late of Fort Mohave, Arizona, passed away peacefully at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 27, 1938, in Waukesha, to Everett and Elizabeth (Kunde) Mitchell. Judy grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1956. On November 16, 1968, she was united in marriage to Harley John Friesen.
Judy was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, both in Waukesha. Judy enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Judy was best known for her sense of humor, her quick wit and her generosity. She also had an incredible ability to make friends with everyone she met, everywhere. She was proud to pass these traits on to her family.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Harley Friesen of Fort Mohave, and by her five children, Scott (Elizabeth) Albea of Hartland, Barb (Greg) Bruntzel of Kenosha, Edward Albea of Oconomowoc, Kelly Friesen of Atlanta, Ga., and Ross Friesen of West Allis. She is further survived by her brother, Dennis (Carol) Mitchell of Janesville, and her grandchildren, Alexia and Stephanie Bruntzel, William and Vivian Albea, Alex and Adam Albea, Ryan, Kyle and Tyler Duehr and by one great-grandson, Gabriel Bruntzel. She will be missed by many of her dear friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Elizabeth Mitchell (Sommerfeld) and a sister, Karen Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, at 3 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, with Pastor David Pagel, presiding minister, Bethany Lutheran Church, Kenosha.
