Bruce R. Schlosser, formerly of Waukesha, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas on August 24, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Schlosser; and sister, Nancy Tennessen.
Survivors include his wife, Vera, married 62 years; along with two sons, Steve (Theresa) and Brian (Vicki) Schlosser of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Bruce was a Korean War veteran and served three years with a 155mm Howitzer unit in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was a proud life member of the NRA, and member/past president of the Waukesha Rifle & Pistol Club. He loved hunting and fishing in northern Wisconsin, as well as deep sea fishing.
Bruce and Vera were united in marriage in 1953 in Heidelberg, Germany. Upon completion of his military service, they moved to Waukesha in 1954. He worked as a draftsman, steel construction estimator, and later became co-owner and vice president of Cardinal Fabricating in Milwaukee. Bruce and Vera enjoyed traveling, which included trips to Africa and many other wonderful places around the world.
After retiring in 1993, Bruce and Vera moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and for 10 years volunteered doing crime watch for the Bella Vista Police Department. He also enjoyed cross-country skiing, reading, and taking care of his succession of dogs, the last one being Lucky, He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
