Shirley Schroeder passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016, surrounded by close friends at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc at age 90.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lydia (Bruss) and Albert; her brother Donald; and many close friends.
Shirley grew up on the family farm in New Berlin, was a feisty woman and lived independently to age of 90. She worked as a Realtor, serving families across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, and as an X-ray technician at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, or as she called it, the hospital on the hill. She was an avid dog lover, took great pride in her home in Waukesha and lived in the same neighborhood for over 50 years.
Those that cared for her extend gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at Mission Creek in Waukesha, the staff at Waukesha Memorial, the Waukesha Fire Department, and all the staff at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc who made her final days peaceful.
In lieu of flowers, please support the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha or AngelsGrace Hospice.
Shirley will be laid to rest at St. Paulís Lutheran Church Cemetery in Muskego with a graveside service on Tuesday, September 27, at 3 p.m.
Friends and family of Shirley are welcome to attend.
