Valieda M. Schneider passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Zilber Family Hospice. She was born April 22, 1920, to Frank and Dorothy (nee Rieman) Jahns in Bassett.
She lived most of her life in Twin Lakes. She went to Wilmot High School and Kenosha College of Commerce. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wilmot. In 1939, she married James Schneider, who preceded her in death in 1998. They had two children: daughter Gloria Westerhaus, and son the late Ralph Schneider.
She took great pride in her family and being a real estate agent for Century 21 for many years. Her other great joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Plus volunteering at Star of Bethlehem grade school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Merlin (the late Gloria) and Robert (Pat) Jahns.
She is survived by her daughter Gloria (Ted) Westerhaus; grandchildren Nancy (Jason) Bartelt, Tim (Jenni) Westerhaus, Brian (Michele) Westerhaus and Jennifer (Matt) Bugenhagen; and great-grandchildren Lauren, Rachel, Katie and Amara Bugenhagen, Kyle and Aubrey Bartelt and Sophia Westerhaus.
The family would like to thank the Zilber Family Hospice and St. Camillus Rehab Center and Pastor John Gawrisch for their loving care in her last days.
Visitation will be today, September 27, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Star of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3700 S. Casper Drive, New Berlin, followed by the memorial service at 7:00 PM.
