Shirley M. Wolfgram (nee Huebner)
Shirley M. Wolfgram of Wauwatosa passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the age of 83 years. Shirley was born in Waukesha, the daughter of Emil K. and Gladys (nee Westcott) Huebner.
She married the love of her life, William E. “Bill” Wolfgram, on August 20, 1955. Shirley graduated from Waukesha High School in 1951, the Wisconsin State College at Whitewater in 1955 with a master’s in art and was an Alpha Sigma sorority sister. Shirley was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a Christian Mother. She taught for 34 years, mainly as a kindergarten teacher at the Swallow School in Hartland. Shirley will be remembered for her dedication and the affection she felt for the children. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and traveling, playing cards and dancing.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters, Joy Froberg and Holly Wolfgram Sanz; grandchildren, Miguel and Manuel; sister, Joyce Foat; brother-in-law, Howard Wolfgram and sister-in-law, Dorothy Pierson. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by husband, Bill, and her sister, Evelyn “Sis” Varga.
The visitation for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, October 11, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. prayer service at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Association of Wisconsin, 13100 W. Lisbon Road, Suite 700, Brookfield, WI 53005, would be appreciated.
