Richard R. ‘Dick’ Bergendahl
Richard “Dick” Bergendahl, 83, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.
Born in St. Paul, Minn., to Alfred and Martha Bergendahl, he lived most of his life in Oconomowoc and the village of Summit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (nee Juker), of 61 years; his children Richard “Rick” (Kim) and Bruce (Teri); his grandchildren Corey (Jenna), Kyle (Lauren), Adam (Ellen), Alex, and Eric; and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and David. Dick is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12 p.m. noon on Saturday, October 15 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 145 E. Lisbon Road, Oconomowoc.
Dick was known for his quick wit, his deep commitment to community, and his keen ability to see “the big picture” and problem solve.
He was sought out for his wise counsel and willingness to discuss all variety of issues and topics.
He served on the Oconomowoc Hospital Board for 14 years, as an election poll worker for many years, and was a strong voice and presence in the village of Summit affairs. He enjoyed traveling and spending precious time with his family.
Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations to the ALS Association of Wisconsin, AngelsGrace Hospice or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc.
