Dr. Dwight Teel

Dwight Teel passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2016 at Masonic Health Care Center in Dousman at the age of 98. He was born in DuQuoin, Ill. and was an educator all of his life. He began his teaching career at a rural school in DuQuoin, and worked in many areas of education in various states before retiring as an administrator from Milwaukee Public Schools. He served in the army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands and celebrated his time in the service with a trip on the Honor Flight in May of 2011.
Dwight loved his family and friends and had a special bond with horses. He always had a smile and a story to share. To know him was to love him. Dwight is survived by his daughter-in law Susan; his granddaughters Jacqueline (Skip) Dexter, Ashley Teel, and Allison (Brad) Fuhrman. He had five great-grandchildren: Payton, Cooper, Avary, Haddisen, and Kennedy, along with many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia; his son, Philip; and granddaughter Shannon.
Please know you were all loved by this wonderful man.
As a passionate educator, he donated his body to the Medical College of Wisconsin for the advancement of science. A memorial service will be held at Three Pillars — Village on the Square at the Ewald Chapel, 375 Highway 67 in Dousman on Oct. 27. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 with a service to follow. Memorials in Dwight’s name are appreciated to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, P.O. Box 636 Port Washington, WI 53074.
