Marjoria ‘Marge’ C. Kastenholz
May 11, 1922 — Oct. 30, 2016

Marjoria “Marge” C. Kastenholz of Waukesha was born to eternal life on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at her home at the age of 94.

She was born in Slinger on May 11, 1922, the daughter of Philip and Alma (nee Ganns) Peters. On April 27, 1946, she married her beloved husband George E. Kastenholz at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger; he preceded her in death on September 6, 2007. Marge worked for Hopson Oil for many years as a bookkeeper. She was a strong advocate for education and programs for people with intellectual and developmental needs and was one of the founding members of the local chapter of ARC where she served as the first state director. She was also successful in creating the first educational classes in the School District of Waukesha for people with special needs.

Marge served on the board of the Waukesha Training Center and enjoyed volunteering at the Training Center and at various group homes. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime, active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church serving in many capacities at the church. Marge was always on the go and loved to travel, enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, but most of all cherished her family.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Philip “Butch” Kastenholz of Waukesha, Michael (Kathleen) Kastenholz of Lakeworth, Fla., Mary (Brian) Kuehl of Waukesha and her son-in-law Allen Schultz of Greenfield. She was the dear grandmother of Jeffrey (Sarah) Kuehl of Madison, Daniel Kuehl of Fort Atkinson, Lindsay Kuehl of Waukesha, Lauren Kuehl of Waukesha and Nathan Kastenholz of Lake Worth, and great-grandmother of Charles Kuehl. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Schultz, her grandson Emerson Kastenholz, and her sisters Evelyn Karius and Mary Ann Bingen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, S38-W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, WI 53189 (corner of highways 83 and D in Genesee Depot).
Graveside services will take place Saturday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
