In 1952, he graduated from Saint Johnís High School in Little Chute, where he played on the basketball team, was a tackle for the football team and a member of the Skulls, a gang of boys who still keep track of one another today. After returning from Germany via a stint in the Army, David received a track scholarship and in 1958 graduated with a masterís degree in education from the University of Wyoming. David taught English in Puerto Rico and in Chicagoís inner city, after which David spent 36 years with Houghton Mifflin publishing company selling textbooks to Wisconsinís schools. A commemoration of Davidís life will be celebrated at a later date with friends and family. As per his wishes and with the help of his wife, sons and granddaughters, Davidís ashes will be scattered across the globe.
