Ronald Robert Jolliffe
April 24, 1944 — Oct. 15, 2016
Ronald Robert Jolliffe, 72, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Tucson, Ariz.
Born April 24, 1944, in Waukesha, he was the son of Robert Wallace Jolliffe and Irma (Vollmer) Jolliffe, both deceased, of Eagle. Ron was a resident of Brookfield for 37 years.
Ron was the beloved husband of Jean (Saxe) Jolliffe for 48 years. They retired to Tucson, Ariz., in 2013. Ron was the proud father of Jennifer Melissa (Mark) McDaniel, also of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Jolliffe) Arnold, and he was the uncle of Donna Sedlak and Steve Arnold. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Ron was employed by the A.O. Smith Corp. for over 35 years, where he was a welder and supervisor.
Ron was very proud of his Cornish heritage and enjoyed traveling to Cornwall to visit relatives. He loved attending Celtic festivals, where he would sing Cornish and other folk songs. He loved playing his guitar and harmonica, too. He was an avid Bob Dylan fan. He was an amateur radio operator — WD9 FCH. He also loved flying his model glider whenever possible. Ron and Jean traveled to their beloved Jamaica each year. They would take a suitcase of school supplies with them for the Jamaican children in a school near Ocho Rios.
Ron never let his infirmities these last few years stop him from enjoying life. Ron was a beautiful man and a wonderful husband and father. He was a gentle and caring soul and will be missed so very much by his family and all those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.
