Anne K. Collins, 88, a Waukesha resident, passed away from a short illness on November 16, 2016. She was born on December 27, 1927, in Erbach, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Rosa Heim.
Anne met Albert while he was serving in the Army stationed in Germany. They married September 4, 1948. They came to America where she proceeded to become an American citizen.
Anne worked for 30 years at Allis Chalmers in West Allis, retiring in 1982. Albert and Anne spent their summers in Prairie du Chien fishing and enjoying their retirement.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Rita (Richard) Shockley. Anne is also survived by grandchildren Hollie (Jon) Nanney, Dina (Jerry) Moos, Kelly Lacy, Aron Cavanaugh, Matt Cavanaugh, Shaun (Tracy) Shockley and Michelle Shockley-Ellsworth (Chris). Anne is further survived by great-grandchildren Payton Anne Doughty, Greyson Richard, Connor James and Cooper Collins Nanney and Shannon Lacy, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and by stepdaughters Lynda Wills and Sherry Cavanaugh; son-in-law Albert (Frog) Cavanaugh; and grandson Dean Cavanaugh.
A memorial gathering for Anne will be held on Saturday, November 26, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, with a memorial service at 1 PM.
