James D. ‘Jimmy’ Carter
May 8, 1965 — Dec. 4, 2016

James D. “Jimmy” Carter passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and warmth of his family and his puppy, Oreo, on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the age of 51 years.

He was the beloved fiancé of Nancy Hickman; loving father of Thomas Hickman (Grace Galecki); cherished son of Archie and Beverly (nee Showalter) Carter; and big brother of Timothy Carter. Jim will also be missed by Allen Schultz, Connie Betker, James Schultz, Kalyca Schultz and Jeffrey Betker. Jim will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.

Jim was a longtime member of the Delafield Home Depot family. He was the former owner of a local Waukesha rental company. He was an amazing bowler who attended numerous tournaments with the pros. He was a proud owner of a 1985 Dodge Omni GLH, very avid fan of the Brewers and the Packers and enjoyed playing family board games.

A special thank-you to everyone at Purity Dialysis. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who have cared for and supported Jim throughout the years.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 15, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Milwaukee, are preferred.
