Thomas V. Doughty, age 68, of North Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waukesha.
Tom was born in Waukesha on March 1, 1948, the son of Vance and Phyllis (Smart) Doughty. Tom was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He married Jane D. Fettig on June 20, 1970, in Waukesha. Tom was retired from SPX in Waukesha where he worked as a coil processor for many years. He volunteered with the North Prairie Fire Department, serving as the second assistant fire chief and was a member of the VFW Post 5270 of Genesee Depot.
Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane of North Prairie; children, James (Danyel) Doughty of Dousman, John (Jenny) Doughty of Dousman, and Nicole (Steven) Doughty of Hartland; grandchildren, Hailey, Nathan, James, Audrie, Conner, Shailyn, and Janelle Doughty; step-grandchildren Joshua and Jessica Funk; brothers and sisters, Victoria (Gary) Weaver of Spooner; Gail (Raymond) Brauch of North Prairie; Joyce (Wayne) Stevens of Oklahoma; JR Doughty of Big Bend; Ina (Andy) Prokop of Big Bend; Robert (Colleen) Wagner of Mukwonago; Dennis (Nancy) Wagner of Pewaukee; David Wagner of Waukesha; Donna (Terry) Hogan of Waukesha; and Kenneth (Lisa) Wagner of Oconomowoc; mother-in-law, Ruth Fettig; a host of other relatives and many good friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, James Fettig.
A celebration of Tomís life will be held in the spring of 2017.
