Robert (Bob) John Andler, age 90, of Dousman, died peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2017, at AngelsGrace in Oconomowoc. Bob was born on April 30, 1926, the son of the late John and Louise (Dziabas) Andler of Chicago, Illinois.
Bob was a veteran of World War II serving aboard the USS West Virginia from March 1944 to May 1946. He worked as a lifetime printer at the Mukwonago Chief, North American/NAPCO, and Milwaukee Folding Carton. He instilled a great work ethic in all of his children and grandchildren. Bob was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the USS West Virginia Association.
Bob is survived by his wife, Caroline; his eight children, Glen (Sandy) Andler, Lynn Depuy, Mary (Kevin Brouwer) Rudolph, Edward (Karen) Andler, Michael (Cindy) Andler, Christine (Don) Scheid, Cecilia (Kip) Besaw and Robert John Andler Jr.; his 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Andler.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.
A private family service will be held. Bobís greatest joy was sharing his Navy stories and going to his reunions for the USS West Virginia each year. Donations to the USS West Virginia Association in Bobís name would be appreciated.
