Sue Ann Miller Larratt
Nov. 27, 1930 — Dec. 28, 2016
Sue Ann Miller Larratt, born November 27, 1930, fondly known for her boundless joyful energy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 28, 2016, with her family at her side. She was 86. She was the only child of the late Yancie and Belle Minn., and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she met her late husband Stuart Larratt (deceased 1991). They moved into the Larratt home on beautiful Beaver Lake, Hartland, in 1964, where they raised six children: Kari, Jill, Julie, Jennifer, Lisa and Erik. Sue worked in Oconomowoc and Hartland elementary schools and was a Girl Scout leader for over 15 years. In 1986, Sue and Stuart traveled the U.S. visiting every national park on the registry. Sue was the family genealogist. They took six months to tour Europe tracking family and then followed the same route that Stuart had traveled when in the Army 40 years earlier in WWII. After their travels, they wintered in South Florida and returned to Oconomowoc every summer.
Sue and Stuart were both avid birders and loved the nature preserves across the country, especially on Washington Island, Wisconsin, and Sanibel Island, Florida. When Stuart passed away in 1991, Sue wanted to connect with people. She volunteered at the Sanibel Island Playhouse and worked at Three Crafty Ladies on Sanibel Island, where she was adored by her friends and customers. She was an accomplished craftswoman, having knit over 40 highly intricate Norwegian sweaters for family and friends.
The last two years were spent near her daughter in Portsmouth, N.H.
She will forever be remembered for her energetic spirit and the strength and confidence she passed onto her children and students.
Sue is survived by her six children: Kari Larratt Warshauer (David Warshauer), granddaughter Elena; Jill Larratt Ray (Ken Ray), granddaughters Nikki and Krista; Julie Larratt Clague (Doug Clague), grandson John Solwold (Wendy), great-grandchildren John, Thomas and Madeleine, grandson Mike Solwold (Amy), great-grandson Hunter, grandson Kevin Solwold (Elissa), grandson Eric Pope; Jennifer Larratt Kristensen, grandson Mark; Lisa Larratt Warne (Burr Warne), granddaughters Hannah, Rachel and Kate; Erik Larratt and granddaughter Sophie.
