Eugene ‘Gene’ M. Hohl

Eugene “Gene” M. Hohl of Pewaukee, formally of Hales Corners and Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Angels-Grace Hospice at the age of 90. He was born on May 30, 1926, in Milwaukee, the son of Michael and Mary (nee Brost) Hohl.

Gene was united in marriage to Carol Jean Gundlack on June 5, 1948, at St. Augustine Church in Bay View. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gene worked as a firefighter and became the fire chief in Hals Corners, as well as an employee of the Bella Vista Sheriff’s Department, and as a Realtor. He was member of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted Catholic.

Gene will be sadly missed by his daughter and son-in-law; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Kathryn) Hohl; and his special lady friend, Lorraine. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean; his parents; one great-grandson; sisters, Germine (William) Walters and Mary Ann (David) Schingen; and brothers, Delbert (Fran) Hohl and David (Barbara) Hohl.

The visitation for Eugene will be held on Saturday, January 21, from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson on Monday, January 23, at 1:00 p.m.
