Anna Afra (Litzl) Moungey
April 25, 1926 — Jan. 19, 2017

Anna Afra Litzl MoungeyAnn Moungey was born in Germany on April 25, 1926. Very little is known of her life there before she met and married the love of her life, Donald Moungey in 1953, and returned to the states as a German war bride following the reconstruction after World War II. Don and Ann were together for 61 years before he preceded her in death on June 19, 2014. The family takes some small comfort in the fact that each of them passed quietly and peacefully in their sleep while in the family home.

Ann had a fierce work ethic that she instilled in each of her three children.

She worked up to three jobs at a time and ran the family owned Country Drive-Inn for over 20 years. She suffered a near-fatal car accident in 1977 that greatly curtailed her ability to work, but she enjoyed traveling with her husband Don while making deliveries all over the country, and kept his books for his construction company for many years, as well, until his retirement.

She is survived by her three children, daughter Rita (and husband Jeffrey Winter) of Merrill, daughter Donna (and husband Howard Tate) of Tahlequah, Okla., and son Tyrone Moungey of Oconomowoc.

“Nanny” also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Patricia (and husband Shawn White), Adrienne Winter, Dylan Winter, Danielle Winter, Connor Tate, Aradine (and husband Justin Finch), Tianah (and husband Nick Schuett), Jordan Moungey and Logan Moungey. She also leaves eight beloved great-grandchildren: Isaac White, Gaven White, Tiayluccia Finch, Atraya Finch, Xolan Finch, Nyko Finch, Anya Schuett, and still unborn baby Schuett.

She is further survived by a nephew, Ronnie Nailor of Monterrey, Calif., and former daughter-in-law Lori (Harenda) Gardner of Soldiers Grove. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Crosspoint Community Church, W380N6931 N. Lake Road in Oconomowoc, with the Rev.
Joel Pavia officiating.
