Nellie Wailes Hinners was born Dec. 2, 1914, in Panora, Iowa, and entered peacefully into eternal life on Jan. 30, 2017, at age 102.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Hinners.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hannah Wailes of Manning.
She was the beloved mother of Norrine (Thomas) Langer, Thomas, Duane (Linda), Mary (Charles) Wamser, Michael (Jean), Douglas and Robert (Mary Pat). She also has 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Nellie, besides being a wonderful matriarch of the family, had a great sense of humor. Her one-liners are legendary. She loved to travel and has seen most of Europe. Nellie was a snowbird, spending her summers in Wisconsin and winters in Florida. As a pastime, she played solitaire and always wonó she said, "itís because I cheat, but that doesnít hurt anyone."
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony on the Lake Church, W280-N2101 Highway SS, Pewaukee, on Friday, February 3, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Committal services to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha.
