Joanne Nettesheim (nee Spek)
Joanne Nettesheim (nee Spek) of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 74. She was born on December 4, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Josephine (nee Remsko) Spek.
On November 22, 1969, she married Wayne Nettesheim. Joanne’s love for her family was apparent in all she did. She loved spending time gardening as well as baking with her grandchildren and wintering in Arizona. Joanne enjoyed working at the Chancery for over 30 years. She was a very active member at St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed various volunteer activities. Her fun-loving attitude and great sense of humor remained as her family, relatives and friends visited at the hospital and AngelsGrace Hospice.
She was the most loving wife of Wayne; mom of cherished and devoted daughter Jaclyn (Greg) Jeffers and beloved son Chad, who passed away in the Dominican Republic in 1997; proud grandma of Brooke, Samuel and Quinn; and dear sister of the late John Spek (Kathy) and Jackie (Ron) Wainio.
A special thank you is extended to the nurses and staff at ProHealth Care, Waukesha Memorial Hospital and AngelsGrace for the wonderful care they provided.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Howard Haase will preside. Private interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha.
Memorials in Joanne’s name are appreciated to the St. Mary Food Pantry (address above).
