William R. TollefsonWilliam R. Tollefson of 4732 N. Hewitt Point Road, Oconomowoc, until 1972, and then West Allis, followed by Wauwatosa, passed on peacefully, Dec 7, 2016. He was born Nov. 15, 1938.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Tollefson, who had been the president of the Oconomowoc National Bank; his mother, Dorothy Tollefson, nee Kamps, who had been active in the Eastern Star Society; and his sister, Jane, who was a Delta Airlines stewardess from 1952 until 1960 when she left the skies for marriage and homemaking. Bill is survived by his niece, Dr. Amy Leona Sandridge (Bill Renaudin) of New Orleans, and great-nieces, Michael Lucinda Jane Greer and Isis Magdalena Sandridge Greer. The funeral at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, was held Jan. 11, 2017, and was attended by Dennis Tollefson of Minnetonka, Minn., and Kristi Tollefson-Taft of Plymouth, Minn.

Bill graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1957 and then attended Carroll College. He was initiated into the Oconomowoc Chapter of the Order of De Molay in 1956. After serving in the Air Force, at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, he pursued a career with Wells Fargo and Pinkerton in Milwaukee, and retired as a supervisor in 2004.

Bill was a passionate philanthropist, donating to various charities including Wisconsin Public Radio, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Raised a Christian Scientist, Bill was cremated. A marker will be laid for him at Hillside Cemetery with his parents, maternal grandparents (Carlotta (Budge) and Wilhelm Kamps) and sister, Jane Tollefson (Sandridge). A modified Viking funeral will be held for Bill in the spring in Barataria Bay, La., to honor his provident life, of which his entire family would have been proud.
