Laurence “Larry” L. Whipps of Wisconsin Dells and Waukesha died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the age of 62. He was born in Waukesha on May 30, 1954, the son of George and Judith Ann (nee Klemp) Whipps.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Larry worked for Skinner Transfer Corp. as a truck driver, where he was a member of the 3-million mile club of safe, accident- free driving. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting down trees. He also enjoyed gardening and farming and taking care of his chickens.
He is survived by his wife, Gosia Whipps; his stepchildren, Kasia (George) Smolinski and Aga Sron; grandson, Matthew; brother, John Whipps; sister, Georgia Harmon (nee Whipps); nephews, Christopher Hanson and David Hanson; nieces, Amanda Hanson and Elise Graser; and great-niece, Madalynn Peters. He is further survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues Friday, March 24, at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. funeral service. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
