Thelma F. Van Skyhawk

Thelma F. Van Skyhawk of Waukesha, formerly of Eagle River, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017, with family at her side at the age of 93 years. She was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., the daughter of John and Belle McCreary.

Thelma had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a Christian inspiration to all that knew her. She was a "Prayer Warrior" to all her family. Thelma was a Sunday school teacher at Twin Lakes Bible Church in Phelps, and enjoyed working with the youth. She was quick witted and loved people.

Thelma will be sadly missed by her children, Eileen Hochschild of North Carolina, Patricia (Bryain) Eigenberger of Arizona, Georgia (Jim) Lutter of Wisconsin, David (Linda) Van Skyhawk of Wisconsin, Daryl Tiderman of Wisconsin, Jana (Fred) Sowinski of Wisconsin, Mack (Vicky) Van Skyhawk of Wisconsin and Chuck (Michele) Van Skyhawk of Wisconsin. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard; and other relatives and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles R. Van Skyhawk Sr.; siblings, Clifford, Evangeline, Marvin, Jeanette, Kathryn and Henry; and son-in-laws, Tony Hochschild and James Tiderman.

A visitation for Thelma will take place on Thursday, April 13, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A graveside service will take place in early May at Eagle River Cemetery, Eagle River.
