Ronald Cullen Ebel, 81, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He was born on March 27, 1936, the only child of the late Ray and Rose Ebel of Merton.
Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from Oconomowoc High School and was stationed in Germany from 1954 to 1956. Upon returning stateside, he apprenticed in the flooring industry and married his high school sweetheart on April 27, 1957. Later he became an avid organic/master gardener. He was a member of the American Society of Dowsers and Seed Savers Exchange, and was a most faithful steward of Godís creation.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jean (Gartzke) Ebel, seven children, 25 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Sullivan on Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life gathering in the parish hall.
Memorial gift donations may be sent to the UW Extension Office in Jefferson to promote education in organic gardening and recycling efforts throughout the county or to the Alzheimerís Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.
