Doris Omsted of Lebanon, formerly of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at AngelsGrace Hospice on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the age of 90. She was born in Babcock on June 23, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Hallie Ball. Doris was married to the love of her life, Fredric Omsted, for 50 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, taking ceramics and crochet classes, and was a talented seamstress, making many beautiful keepsakes for her family. Most of all, Doris loved four generations of nieces and nephews, and treated them as if they were her own children.
She had a special place in her heart for her nephew Ralph, who she called her "best friend," and always looked forward to his weekly phone calls. She will be sadly missed by this extended family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fredric; sisters, Dorothy Mosher, Evelyn Baker and Helen Schwarting; brothers, Bud Ball and Harold Ball; and great-nephew Johnny Smith.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers who provided care and companionship over the past three years. And a special thank you to her great-great-niece Jami Kresnak and her family, who lovingly cared for Doris for the past six months.
A visitation for Doris will be held on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 12 noon funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Salem Cemetery, Wales.
