Evelyn Louise Lehman
Evelyn Louise Lehman passed away the evening of Sunday, March 26, 2017.
Evelyn was born July 25, 1920 in Penfield, Ill., to John and Pauline Oehmke. Evelyn married Omer T. (Ozzie) Lehman on January 27, 1945, who was in the Army Air Corps, at Chanute Air Field, Rantoul, Ill. Ozzie was born and raised in Oconomowoc and several years after the war the family moved to Mapleton for a year before purchasing a small property on Brown Street, where Evie and Ozzie raised chickens and had a large garden. The family enjoyed vacationing all over the states, visiting Disneyland the first year it opened. Evie was also an avid bowler for years.
Evelyn worked as a dietitian for Lutheran Homes at Knollward and the Lutheran Homes on Lac La Belle for many years. After Ozzie passed in 1994, Evie moved to live with her daughter, Judi, in Monterey, Calif., and continued to travel the world with her daughter, back to Oconomowoc to visit friends, and spending an occasional summer with her son Stan in Alaska. Evelynís travels with her children included visits to Japan, Europe and Mexico and she was a regular at the blackjack tables in Reno, Nev.
Evelyn is survived by her sister, Wanda Devoe, Prescott, Ariz.; and her children: Stanley (Lanie) of Juneau, Alaska, and Judith of Carmel, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, her sister Dorothy and brother, Myron.
Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes spread on an English muffin.
