Ruthe Browne (nee Brunhart)

On May 9, 2017 at the age of 94, Ruthe Browne (nee Brunhart) peacefully crossed over and is now dancing in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John L. Browne.

She was the loving mother of Dan (Susan) Browne, Bruce (Patricia) Browne, Marybeth (Phil) Vander Male and Caroline (Ken Bamford) Browne, and the loving grandmother of Christina (Jay Dee), Greg (Michelle), Amy (Michael), Matt (Jyl), Monica (Jonathan), Erica (Kyle), Natalie (Chantz), and Billy.

Ruthe was loved and will be remembered by many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Emma Brunhart, and her siblings Lucille Larkin, Bob Brunhart and Ralph Brunhart.

She was a role model, ahead of her time (womenıs rights, world peace, cultural diversity, child-centered education, ecumenical worship), founding and lifelong member of Community of the Living Spirit, dancer, traveler, lover of nature, and committed to her grandchildren.

Ruthe was Wisconsinıs first female Marine and served during World War II.

She received her masterıs degree in dance movement therapy from Columbia in Chicago.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be at 4 p.m. Bring your favorite Ruthe story and dancing shoes!

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
