Elroy W. LiesenerElroy W. Liesener, 77, of Watertown, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.

Elroy Walter Liesener was born December 31, 1939, in Oconomowoc, the son of Frank and Weida E. (nee Habeck) Liesener. Elroy attended Sugar Island Grade School before graduating as part of the Oconomowoc Class of 1957.

He married the former Elaine Hanke on April 20, 1963, at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2007. He worked as a dairy farmer and carpet installer, working mainly for J& S Floor Covering in Ashippun.

Elroy loved playing the tuba. He played on various bands throughout the years, including: Jolly Time Dutchmen, Push-n-Pull, Myron Breezy Orchestra, Bill Landowski, Village Brass, Buzzy Weber, and Buttons and Banjos. He enjoyed going to polka dances and festivals. He was a big fan of the WTKM radio station. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Adams County hunting, fishing and ice fishing. He enjoyed trips with Elaine to Europe. Most of all, Elroy loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching grandchildren in their various activities.

Elroy was a member of the Wisconsin Carpenterís Union, Zion Lutheran Church and Ashippun Sportsmenís Club.

He is survived by his children, Christine (John) Siedschlag of Watertown, Bruce (Evie) Liesener of Ashippun, Brian Liesener of Ixonia, Barth Liesener of Oconomowoc, Robert (Tania) Liesener of Watertown and Courtney (Steve Markus) Liesener of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Natalie Siedschlag, Deanna Liesener, Wayne (Nicole) Howie, Tyler Howie, Ashley Liesener, Taylor Liesener, Kyle Liesener, Brett Liesener and Alexandria Liesener; great-grandchildren, Keira Liesener, Avery Rintelman, Myles Howie, Adilyne Howie and Hadyn Howie; sisters-in-law, Doris (James) Gindt of Hustisford, Ruth (George) Ducklow of Johnson Creek, Millie (Lyn) Bully of Juneau, Linda (Robert) Fortmann of Watertown and Lillian Hanke of Dousman; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Barbara) Hanke of Juneau and Ronald Schmeling of Juneau; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Elroy was further preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Armin (Eunice) Liesener; mother-and father-in-law, Elsie and Edwin Hanke; brother-in-law, Charles Hanke; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schmeling.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun, with the Rev. Robert F. Thays officiating. Family and friends called to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial took place at the parish cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of oneís choice.
