Anneliese Rothkegel of Waukesha was born to eternal life on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born in Germany on August 31, 1927, the daughter of Heinrich and Margarete (nee Schilling) Hunold.
On July 15, 1948, she married her beloved husband Hans and in 1953 they moved to the United States; he preceded her in death on January 26, 2013. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Anneliese was very creative and artistic and had many interests and talents. Her greatest talent was sewing, and she worked as a seamstress for many years, owning her own business. She was most passionate about flowers and gardening and always had the most beautiful gardens on her street.
Anneliese loved watching the sunset, children and birds, was an excellent cook and baker, and had the ability to make any occasion special through her exceptional cake decorating skills. She was a kind and loving person, who would help anyone in need and was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rita (Daniel) Vosburg of Waukesha and Heidi (Rex) Nienow of Westfield; her grandchildren, Kristie and Andrew Vosburg, both of Waukesha, Rex Jr. (Teresa) Nienow of Ixonia and Cory Nienow of Briggsville; and one great-grandchild, Lexi Nienow.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Hans, she was preceded in death by her daughter Carla Huebner in 2002; and her siblings, Heinz and Willy Hunold, and Marga Siebel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
