Joan A. Higgins
Joan A. Higgins, 74, of Crandon, passed away at her son Joe’s home on June 7, 2017.
Joan was born March 31, 1943, in Waukesha, the daughter of Lloyd and Beryl (Sherman) Schultz.
Joan grew up in the Milwaukee area and worked for the Milwaukee Journal.
In 1987, she moved her family to Crandon. Joan worked at Mole Lake and and the Carter casinos as a blackjack dealer until retirement.
Joan enjoyed going to rummage sales, flea markets, casinos and camping.
She also liked doing the flea market in Mole Lake, playing bingo, and her family barbecues.
Surviving Joan are her daughters Shelly Asbach, Carrie Higgins and Linda (John) Dennee of Crandon; sons Tom Higgins (special friend Sherry) of Rhinelander, Bobby (Doris) Higgins of Milwaukee, Danny (Paula) Higgins of Brookfield, Eddy Higgins of Crandon, Joe (Linda) Higgins of Argonne and Mike (Lisa) Higgins of Wabeno; 39 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and an infant child.
Services for Joan will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon with Pastor Don Dewing officiating.
Burial to follow at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home.
