Rose M. Bengs

Rose M. Bengs of Waukesha was born to eternal life Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the age of 85.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gus, and parents Jorge and Natalie Harrison.

She was the loving mother of Augie (Cheryl) Bengs, Mary Bengs, Shelly (Bob) Meier and Hilaree (Frank) Wilkinson; beloved grandma "Oohtee" of Ingra (Micah) Wesby, Dona (Patrick) Robertson, Therese (Tyler) Steinhardt, Danielle (Ben) Stellmacher, Dan Meier and Steve Meier; beloved sister of Beba Brinson, Lulu (Eric) Espino and Kiki (Michael) Geiger; and dear sister-inlaw of Carol Stewart.

Rose was loved and will be remembered by nieces, nephews, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Rose was born and raised in the Republic of Panama where she met Gus while he was stationed there during his military service. They soon married and moved to northern Wisconsin and started their family. Years later they moved to Waukesha where Rose taught in the first grade bilingual program at White Rock School for 24 years. She was also very active at St. Joseph Catholic Church as a eucharistic minister and involved with the Christian Women’s Quilting Program.

Rose loved to read and participated in a local book club. Visitation will be held Friday, June 16, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 826 East Ave., Waukesha, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Medical Clinic or Avalon Square, an assisted living facility in Waukesha.
