Richard P. ‘Dick’
Richard P. ‘Dick’ Dickow Sr. passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the age of 74.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue, of 56 years; his children Terri (Bob) Gard, Lisa Wellnitz (Pat Schuettler) and Richard Dickow Jr.; his grandchildren April (Tim) Gallenberg, Nicole (Nathan) Meyer, Ashley Wellnitz, Tyler Wellnitz, Kyle Dickow, JamieLee Wellnitz and Courtney Dickow; his great-grandchildren Jaden, Dylan, Silas, Colten, Tyrah, Bryce and Jaylon; his siblings Ruby Danato, Florence (Joe) Bies, Chet (Kathy) Dickow and Carol Dearborn; and his friends Jeff Staffeil, John Wellnitz, Arnie Uglum, Lynn Walton and Mike Czaplewski. He is further survived by other dear friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Alma Dickow, and his siblings Gus Dickow, Trudy Grunewald, Merle Dickow and Jerry Dickow.
Dick enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He was the president of the Rome Sno-Barons for many years. He was employed at Wisconsin Centrifugal (MetalTek International) in Waukesha for 35 years, where he retired at the age of 56 in 1998.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. He will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 19, at Hoffman Cemetery in the Town of Sullivan (Rome).
