Anthony “Tony” George Neuser, age 93, of Rice Lake, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Woodstone Memory Care in Rice Lake.
He was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Milwaukee to Arthur and Jennifer Neuser. Tony graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee and then entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a lieutenant.
He was married to Marian Prochnow on Jan. 3, 1944 in Minneapolis. Tony was an accountant for many different businesses and then owned and operated Woodland Health Center in Brookfield. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling around the world.
Tony was on the Governors Council for long-term care, president of Wisconsin Association of Nursing Homes, and served on the National Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and Nursing Homes. He developed time shares on Sanibel Island, Fla., and Eagle River.
Tony Neuser is survived by a son and daughter-inlaw, Bob and Jan Neuser of Oconomowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bruce Kiel of DePere, and Sandy and Randy Roedl of Wickenburg, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jennifer Neuser; two brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, where military rites will be accorded him. Visitation will be held from 3 5 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and from 12 - 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Waukesha.
