MUKWONAGO

Carla Mary Niegelsen

Carla Mary Niegelsen of Mukwonago passed away unexpectedly in her sleep early Saturday morning. She is now joining our son, her elder sister Jeannine, and parents in the Heaven above. She passed away at the age of 64.

Carla will be deeply missed by her husband of 43 1⁄2 years, Timothy J. Niegelsen; her son Joshua (Kristi); sister Renee (Paul) Schultz; two very beautiful granddaughters, Ciera Mary and Sofia Madison of Margate, Fla.; one grandson, Ryan of Franklin; along with 24 nieces and nephews, and 43 great-nieces-and-nephews. She is also survived by three aunts and countless number of cousins along with her dearest life long friend, Joann West-Spransky.

Carla loves the simple things in life. Her laughter was infectious and her love of music was endless. She also was a news “junkie” to be listening to world and national news as well as local. I would abstain from watching the news because when it was of importance she kept me informed.

Carla knew to love and loving was her way to love.

As I have been battling stage 4 cancer for four years, she was my caregiver and my rock. In between she had her own bout with cervical cancer, having surgery performed by the amazing Dr. Turner and her incredible oncologist Dr. Raza — to both of them I will be extremely grateful.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 930 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago, from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in East Troy.

I would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to the family because we as cancer victims fall under the uninsurable category.
