Christa Laubenstein-Lukas of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the age of 78 years. She was born in Germaniengrund County of Trebnitz, Germany. She was the daughter of Gustav P. and Frieda E. Strecker.
Christa immigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Saginaw, Mich., where she met her first husband, Philipp Laubenstein; after his passing in 2005, Christa later married Doug Lukas on May 10, 2013. She enjoyed her flower garden at her home, traveling and most of all loved spending time with her family.
Christa will be sadly missed by her husband, Doug; her daughter, Veronica (Kevin) Cranker; stepchildren, Jill Lukas, Jeff Lukas and Stephanie (Matthew) Rosch; grandchildren, Nathan Cranker, Hilary (Steve) Cranker-Roberts, Alexandra, Alyssa and Lukas Rosch; and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Ada and Scarlet.
She is further survived by other relatives and friends here and in Germany.
Christa was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Philipp Laubenstein; and granddaughter, Emily.
A visitation for Christa will be held on Thursday, June 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 12 noon funeral service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 470 N. Oak Crest Drive, Wales, WI 53183. The burial will take place privately at Prairie Home Cemetery.
