Dawn Elann Dalton (nee Williams) died peacefully while in her home and in the company of her family on July 4, 2017, at the age of 58.
She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Mike; son Dustin and his wife Liz; mother Lorayne and her husband Harvey; brother Gary and his wife Julie; and her beloved poodle, Sage.
Her loving in-laws John and Theresa, extended family, and personal and professional friends also survive her.
Her father, Raymond, and her niece, Colleen, preceded her in death.
Dawn was born on the morning of June 17, 1959, in Milwaukee. She graduated early from New Berlin West High School in 1977. In December of 1978, she gave birth to her son, Dustin.
While diligently balancing dedication to her son and academics, Dawn became a registered nurse and graduated valedictorian of her class at The Milwaukee County Medical Complex-School of Nursing on May 18, 1985. On Dec. 12, 1986, she married her greatest admirer and longtime friend, Mike. Together they made a home in New Berlin and raised Dustin through college before moving to Vernon.
From the whimsical trails through her pine forest to the eclectic adornments that filled the spaces she graced, Dawn used her free spirit and many talents to create a world of beauty and wonder around her. She dearly loved animals and took great care in providing the best life for her pets.
As an RN, Dawn’s compassion and humor touched the lives of countless patients, doctors and fellow nurses.
She faced the challenges in her life with amazing courage and determination, and she celebrated the joys of life with equal enthusiasm. Her vibrant spirit shined brightly until the very end. Her son remembers her as a selflessly supportive mother, but also as a friend, teacher and inspiration. Those she has known will remember Dawn by her radiant smile and infectious laugh.
A celebration of life is scheduled for July 16, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bass Bay Brewhouse, S79-W15851 Aud Mar Drive, Muskego, WI 53150. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dawn’s life.
