Theodore ‘Ted’ Walter Gruling
Feb. 6, 1936 — July 12, 2017

Theodore “Ted” Walter Gruling, age 81, died July 12, 2017, at Merrill Hills Health Care, Waukesha. He was born Feb. 6, 1936, on the Gruling farm Hamburg Township, Marathon County, to the late Theodore E. and Dora (Guetzke) Gruling.

He attended school in Cedarburg and Eagle. Ted married Florence Ann Schultz on July 11, 1959, in Waukesha. He worked 42 years and retired from the Waukesha Foundry.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; son Joseph (Julie) Gruling of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mary Ann Marquardt and June Carroll, both of East Troy; four brothers, Alfred Gruling of East Troy, Delmar Gruling of West Bend, Franklin (Diane) Gruling of Palmyra, and Frederick (Marilyn) Gruling of Jefferson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Theodore was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Gruling in 2007 and William Gruling in 2012; his parents; and a brother, Roger Gruling.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Burial will be on Tuesday, July 18, at 1 p.m. at Ottawa Cemetery, Dousman. Please meet at cemetery.
