Susan June Corcoran
June 7, 1946 — July 25, 2017

Susan June CorcoranSusan June Corcoran (nee Zillmer), born June 7, 1946, went home on July 25, 2017 while she was surrounded and supported by all six of her children. Susan was preceded by her parents, Augusta and Harry Zillmer; her husband, Jim Waltzer; her sister, Harriet “Toots” Yaresh (nee Zillmer); her fiancé, Andy; and many loving family members and friends.

She is survived by her cat Squeakers, whom she loved dearly. Other notable people in her life include, but are not limited to: her best friend and longest relationship of 63 amazing years, April Grove; her six devoted children who loved and cared for her during the last months of her life: Jeffery, Jennifer, Sarah, Benjamin, Rebecca and David (Mom would just call us all George so our names really don’t matter), Allan Corcoran; brother, Jack; brother, Harry; brother, Ernie; and sister, Ellen, who is “the pretty one” (Susan is making air quotes while saying that); four beautiful grandchildren that were all her favorites, and hundreds of family and friends she has touched over her lifetime.

Susan was mom to many, Auntie Susie to even more, and “Ma’am, you can’t do that” to several police officers. Even though she was so many things to so many different people Susan was uniquely herself. She lived a life of both peril and triumph; her children recall stories of her journey to school 10 miles uphill both ways by foot, in HUGE amounts of snow. Susan survived these treacherous feats to eventually find her true calling — cleaning everything in sight and raising 30 cats while somehow finding the time to take lavish trips to Hawaii with her friends for no reason. Susan leaves many stories untold about all her great adventures, but she will live on through the wonderful memories she leaves with so many great people she had in her life. No one else will sing “The hills are alive” in the middle of a grocery store at the top of their lungs quite like Susan.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, at the funeral home. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment following at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Pewaukee.
