Ferdinand Stanek of Dousman passed away the morning of August 3, 2017, at the age of 79 after a nearly decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He and his wife, Judy Stanek, were married for nearly 52 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and worked in quality control and was an avid cabinetmaker and woodworker. He loved reading and spending time with family, especially his grandsons Eric and Jake Stanek. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and learning new things.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Judy (nee Frank); his daughter Lisa Stanek; son Matt Stanek; daughter-in-law Marin Stanek; and grandsons Eric and Jake; as well as many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ferdinand Clarence Stanek, and his mother, Dorothy (nee Sprader) Stanek.
A memorial service will be held at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ on Saturday, August 12, at 11 a.m. followed by full military honors.
