Susan M. Petri ‘Susie’ ‘Zsuzsa’

Susan M. Petri of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the age of 93 years. She was born and raised in Cibakhaza Hungry, the daughter of Geza Konkoly-Thege and Emilia (nee Molnar).

Susan married Paul Zoltan Petri on January 8, 1944. In 1945, they immigrated from Hungry to Germany and in 1951 came to America. Susan worked at Goldhammer Plumbing from 1953 to 1989, when she retired. She was a great cook and was known as the “Best Cook in the Neighborhood” by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Susan also received an honorable mention from the mayor as a volunteer translator.

Susan will be sadly missed by her sons, Thomas (Darlene) Petri and Geza (Denise) Petri; grandchildren, Jason (Michaele) Petri and Jeremy Petri; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, James and Olivia Petri. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in Hungary and the U.S.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Miklos. A special thank you to Julie Melendes and the staff at Linden Court for the care and companionship they gave Susan.

A visitation for Susan will be held on Monday, August, 14, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Howard Haase will be officiating. The burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial to the St. Mary’s would be appreciated (see address above).
