Leonard Banda Jr., 75, died July 19, 2017, in Oakland, California.
He was born in Waukesha, attended St. Joseph’s grade school, Catholic Memorial High School (Class of 1960 president), earned a BA degree from UW-Milwaukee in 1967 and master’s from UC Berkeley in city planning and became a city planner for city of Fremont, California.
He is survived by son, Paul; first wife, Lynn Taylor; second wife, Mary Passeri; sister Mary Casper; nephews and nieces, Philip Casper and wife Connie, Vincent Casper, Robert Casper, Deanna Stropes, Dawn Davis, Denise Banda, Danelle and husband Michael O’Neil, Linda and husband John Skuhra, Mark Gurda, Donna Gurda, Michelle and husband Mitch Irish, and Phil Banda Jr.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard Sr. and Ursula Melendes, and siblings Rueben, Dolores Gurda and Phillip.
He was admired for his good character, altruistic nature and sense of humor. He will be missed.
