Hing J. Moy, known to friends as Tom, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015, after a short struggle with lung cancer.
His wife, King C. Moy, known to friends as Rosa, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2010, after a short struggle with stomach cancer.
Tom was born in Guangzhou Province, China, on September 26, 1926. After immigrating to the United States, he became a naturalized citizen and learned the restaurant business.
Rosa was born in Hong Kong on June 27, 1929. They married on March 24, 1956. Together, they settled in Waukesha, and started its very first Chinese restaurant, China City, on Main Street.
They are survived by a son, the Honorable Edmund C. Moy, who served as the 38th director of the United States Mint (2006-2011); a daughter, Donna S. Moy, an executive director of ABC Television in New York; a daughter-in-law, Karen J. Moy; and granddaughters Nora S. Moy and Lucy Rose Moy.
A private interment service is scheduled for family on 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, at Forest Home Cemetery.
